so first we look for the slope which is rise/run.

start with the lower point and count up two.

the count to the left and you have -2/4, thats your slope.

then you chose one point, like (1,-5)

so either using point slope form y-y1=m(x-x1) or standard form y+mx+b

im going to use standard form

plug in your points like so:

y= -2/4x +b

-5= -2/4(1) +b

-5 = -1/2 + b

-5+ 1/2 = b

-4 1/2 =b

so y should equal

y=-2/4x + (-4.5)
