[tex](2(8)-12)+( \frac{1}{2}(8)(2)-10)[/tex]

You can use PEMDAS to solve from there.

[tex](16-12)+( \frac{1}{2}(16)-10) 4+(-2) [/tex]

What does 4 plus negative 2 equal?...
