The answer is the energy per molecule is high but the total energy. transferred is small.  The sparks from a sparkler that strike your skin is akin to tiny droplets o boiling water striking your skin, in such a way that it doesn't injure us since the energy per molecule is high but the total energy.  Both have high temperatures but safe levels of thermal energy to transfer to your skin.
