Combine like terms in the expression –5x + 2y + 5x – 8y.
A. 10x - 6y
B. -10x _ 6y
C. -6y
D. -10x - 10y

You need to combine -5x and 5x together and that would give you zero so you need to combine 2y and -8y which would give you -6y so the answer is C. -6y
