By the process of "PHOTOSYNTHESIS" plants create macromolecules through the CHNOPS elements. 

Here, they obtain it through various means... like carbon & oxygen from atmosphere, hydrogen from water, nitrogen & phosphorus from soil & sometimes by eating insects (Venus Fly trap).

So, in short, your answer is by complex process of photosynthesis.
