This occurs in the ribosomes. The ribosome reads the codon (3 nucleotide sequence), then recruits the t-RNA with the anticodon to that codon. This tRNA brings in the amino acid attached to it (that is uniquely related to that codon). The amino acid brought is detached from the t-RNA and forms a polypeptide bond with the growing peptide chain. The ribosome dislocated to the next codon. This releases the ‘empty’ tRNA and brings in the next tRNA corresponding to the next codon.
