Solve the following equation for y.
12x=6y-18

A: y=2x-3

B: y=3x +2

C: y=3x-2

D: y=2x +3

12x = 6y - 18
12x + 18 = 6y

y = 2x + 3

12x = 6y - 18....solving for y......add 18 to both sides
12x + 18 = 6y....divide both sides by 6
12/6x + 18/6 = 6/6y...simplify
2x + 3 = y

solution : y = 2x + 3
